The price of NorthTracker's digital driving logs varies depending on the company's needs and conditions. We always customise the solution based on the scope of the business and technical requirements.
The following factors affect the monthly cost per car:
Number of vehicles - The more cars, the lower the cost per vehicle is common.
Binding period - Longer contracts often give a better price over time.
Electric cars - May involve slightly higher costs, as some models require extension cords or customised solutions.
Want to know what it would cost for your business? Send us an enquiry and we'll contact you with a personalised proposal - no obligation.
On one side of your device is an IMEI number, which you should scan into the NorthTracker app.
Now you must enter your registration number and meter reading. You do this in connection with the registration of a new account or new unit.
If you have chosen an OBD-II, you insert the device into that socket. It is usually located under the steering wheel.
If you have chosen a Machine Easy, attach the device to the car battery (positive and negative poles).
The installation is complete. Now you can track your driving log directly in the NorthTracker app or via your computer.
The best way to show that employees use their employer's car mainly for business and very little for private purposes is to keep a detailed driving log. This means that the person using the car should keep a detailed record of all journeys made with the car.
Preferential car or not
Employees who wish to avoid being taxed on car benefits must be able to show that they have used the car privately on no more than 10 occasions per calendar year and with a total mileage of no more than 100 miles.
Extensive service driving
Extensive business driving is when an employee drives 3,000 kilometres or more on business per year in a company car. You as the employer can then reduce the benefit value to 75% of the full value.
For you to make the reduction in the benefit value, the employee must fulfil the number of miles with you as employer during the income year in question. If you don't reduce the benefit value, the employee can make the reduction himself/herself in his/her income tax return, provided he/she fulfils the conditions.
Employees who have more than one employer during the year can add up all the business mileage with the different employers during the year.
Fuels
If you, as an employer, pay the fuel for an employee with a company car, he/she will only be taxed on the fuel used for private journeys. This assumes that there is documentation showing how much was driven privately and on business, otherwise the driver will be taxed on all fuel. Use electronic driving logs to simplify the calculation.

A driving log is a document that the Swedish Tax Agency may request during an audit. The electronic logbook automatically records starts and stops so that you can prove which journeys are business and which are private.
Installation is simple and most of NorthTracker's customers opt for an OBD-II unit - this plugs into the socket usually located under the steering wheel. There is also an option where the unit is connected to the car's internal battery via the positive and negative terminals.
