Temporary GPS interference or installation in a location with poor GPS reception.

When Theft mode is active, the device updates twice per hour when stationary and every 5 minutes when moving. Theft mode can be set to activate automatically when the device detects that it is outside a security zone, if desired. It can also be activated manually under Device in the app and under Device > Operating mode on the web.
Note that this mode consumes significantly more battery. If you require real-time tracking, we recommend using the “Real-time tracking” operating mode.

From every 5 minutes up to every 24 hours. The default setting is one update per day. You can adjust the transmission interval in the device settings under operating mode or contact support.

Battery life depends directly on the selected transmission interval.

  • At 24-hour intervals: up to 5 years

  • At 8-hour intervals: up to 3 years

  • At 1-hour intervals: approximately 1 year

Shorter intervals consume more battery, especially if the device moves frequently. Monitor the battery level in the NorthTracker system to avoid unexpected interruptions.

The device only updates its position according to the selected transmission interval. In between transmissions, it remains in sleep mode.
The device must be outside the security zone at the time an update occurs. Also ensure that the security zone is activated and that alarm recipients are properly configured.

Create a new zone and monitor the result. Then delete the old zone. Avoid modifying the same zone multiple times.

  • Double-check that your phone number has been added under Alarm recipients and that notifications are enabled for the correct device.

Yes. Go to Alarm recipients, tap the green edit icon, and enable push notifications. This can only be done when creating the alarm profile from an existing user.

The subscription is registered automatically during account registration together with the device’s IMEI number.

The invoice is normally sent the month after registration.

GPS technology is not completely fault-free and may lose contact with satellites if the device is poorly positioned in the vehicle or if the vehicle is stored under a metal roof or inside a garage. This will result in the device losing reception.

The device should be placed in a way that makes it difficult for a potential thief to detect. At the same time, it must have a clear line of contact with GPS satellites, so avoid installing it under metal or carbon fiber, as this blocks the GPS signal.
