The system automatically records all trips. You only need to go in and mark them as “business” or “private” (if you have not activated automatic classification based on location or if you have set up your own schedule), and enter the purpose of the trip (this can also be done partially automatically via Places).

Yes, you can add comments or a case/purpose afterwards for each trip, directly in the portal or the app.

Yes, NorthTracker’s logbook meets the requirements of the HMRC. It includes all necessary information: dates, addresses, timestamps, purpose (if entered), odometer reading, and distance driven.

Yes, you can export a complete report in PDF, CSV, or Excel format – monthly, weekly, or for any selected period.

It is the time the device must remain stationary before a trip is registered as completed.

Go to Account and open Permissions for the user, then tick the devices they should have access to and be able to see.

If you park in a garage, the last transmission may not be sent. This usually resolves itself when you drive out of the garage and the device regains signal.

Go to Account and check the user’s permissions. If the user does not have permission, the device will not be visible.

If you park in a garage or in an area with poor GPS reception, the last transmission may not be sent. This usually resolves itself when you drive out of the garage and the device regains signal.

It may also be due to poor GPS positioning where the device is installed. The device may need to be repositioned.

If the device is connected to the OBD-II port located low near the pedals, extension cables are available so it can be placed higher up. Otherwise, consider switching to a Machine Easy that connects to +/- (e.g. battery).

Go to Alarm Recipients and ensure that all recipients have correct contact details entered and access to the device you want alarms from.

If it concerns a geofence alarm (Security zone), check that it is activated, that no schedule conflicts with your settings, and that it applies to the correct device.

Check that you have SMS credits remaining. These can be purchased in the webshop.

First, move the GPS device to the new vehicle. Go to the Device page and click “Change vehicle”, then enter the new registration number.

Update the odometer reading so it matches the new vehicle, and change the device name if needed.
