Support for Scout

NorthTracker Scout 2.0 is approved by SSF - Swedish Theft Protection Association and recommended by Swedish insurance companies. The tracker has its own battery with capacity up to 5 years and works throughout Europe.

Put in the batteries

The package includes 3 Litsium AAA batteries. Insert them in the GPS tracker to start it up.

Download the NorthTracker app

You can find the NorthTracker app in both the App Store and Google Play. Then start an account and scan the IMEI number from your Scout.

Position the unit with a clear view

The first time you switch on your Scout 2.0, it needs to find its position. This is done by letting the device lie in plain sight for 24 hours. For example, at an open window.

Subscription and registration

How do I register my subscription?
You register the subscription during account registration in the NorthTracker app together with the device's IMEI.
When will the annual invoice arrive?
The invoice is normally sent the month after registration.

Device Function and Safety Zone

Why does the Safety Zone alarm not work the first time?
If a zone is created when the device is inside the zone, the first event is not registered correctly. The device must leave and then come back to activate alarms.
Why doesn't the device alarm when I leave the Safety Zone?
The device only updates its location according to the transmission interval. The device must be outside the safety zone when an update occurs.
What is 'Theft Mode' and how does it work?
Theft mode starts when the device detects that it is outside a security zone, then the device will switch to update twice per hour when stationary and every 5 minutes when moving. Theft mode is activated in the security zone menu.
What to do in case of a safety zone problem?
Create a new zone and observe the result. Then delete the old zone. Do not change the zone several times.

Transmission Interval and Battery Life 

How often does the unit send position?
By default, the device sends one update per day. You can adjust the sending interval in your device settings or contact support.
How long is the battery life?
The battery life is directly affected by the transmission interval you have chosen. At 24h intervals, the battery can last up to 5 years, at 8h up to 3 years and at 1h about 1 year. The other options consume more battery, especially if the device moves frequently. Therefore, keep an eye on the battery level of the NorthTracker system to avoid unexpected interruptions
